The financial experts said that thousands of divorcees can
now benefit from this hike in the retirement earnings following mis-evaluation of
the pension pot of their former spouse. It is advised by the solicitors that
the separated couple can stake a claim upto 12 years after the settlement of
their legal separation. In the year 2000 the divorce law was altered and it
allowed the separated couples to share the pension amount, means the pensioner
account holder will not be the only beneficiary of it, the ex spouse can also
benefit out of it.
